I'm a carpenter, like Jesus, who became aware of my atheism some years ago. I'm 50 years old and live in the South(Bible Belt). I resent the blatant racism I observe every day from both white rednecks and black gangsters.

Mayor's race

In the current race for mayor, we may find it's more like a weenie dog race at Louisiana Downs than a political contest. Cedric Glover may be the best person for this job when compared to the other candidates. Most people I've spoken with can't support anyone associated with the Hightower administration. Exit Liz Swaine and Arleena Acree. Jerry Jones is a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, which is a huge handicap in progressively thinking circles. Vernon Adams is probably qualified but, perhaps, a bit too old for two terms. Ed Bradley looks as if he couldn't make a runoff if it was tomorrow. Max Malone, God forbid he's elected mayor after eight years of an extreme right wing agenda in the senate.

This city needs someone with some vision for the future without the agenda of building something big so that hopefully some future leaders will put their name on it. Glover could be that person.
